I'm in the midst of mucking out the spare bedroom and found one of the boxed season sets of B5. I'll have to find the rest to start a rewatch and do another bout of worship of the Warrior Goddess in Her Susan Andreyevna Ivanova avatar.

Finding out Abi at Making Light is doing her own rewatch is also prodding me to find the DVDs.

Hee, after B5, it should be time for Farscape (worship of the Warrior in Her Our Lady of Perpetual Leather avatar, Aeryn).

I managed to miss almost all of the Super Bowl commercials this year, but have read various blog posts (a couple of memorable rants from [livejournal.com profile] fengi with links to other awesome smackdowns) about the rampant misogyny. Broadsheet points us to a parody that nails one of the more repugnant commericals.

ETA to add links to some righteous rantage complete with understandable use of bad language

This was made by [livejournal.com profile] whumpdotcom in honor of [livejournal.com profile] norabombay's invocation of the Cylon Baby Jesus. Thank you, darlin'!

I'm working my way through old episodes of BSG, and I started thinking that Cylon-occupied Caprica seems to be awfully habitable for a place that got nuked.

I guess it's time to kick in the Willing Suspension of Disbelief, neh?

It looks like Forbes.com decided to pull down that offensive article and will have an apology in next week's issue.

My thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kawgirl for the heads up. Now I'm a little sorry that I hadn't printed the sucker out. If somebody's archived this, please let me know. I think this whole process needs to be well documented, not only the original offensive article, but the steps that the company is taking to address readers' outrage. They shouldn't get away with waving a magic wand and letting the webpage go "poof!" like it never happened.

Note to Forbes.com: It happened. We remember, and we'll take what information you put out there in the future with enough grains of salt to send everybody's blood pressure sky high.

Note to other media companies: Don't get cocky or complacent. If you screw up, you'll get called on it.

Keep up the fight!
