Yes, yet another riff on "Gangnam Style", only with space! I will note that some of my former comrades over in Mountain View at NASA Ames are probably gnashing their teeth in envy because "Ames" doesn't scan in the song.

Yes, I am posting something silly because if I really went off on what happened earlier today, it would not be pretty.

I didn't know you used to work at Ames. So did I. I was a special-project librarian in the Planetary Biology Department, a long long time ago.

I did two tours there. Back in 77-78, I was a high school student doing work in the Space Biology program (Vitamin D metabolism in reduced gravity), and then in 81-82, I did my Santa Clara senior thesis work in Planetary Biology origin of life stuff (dropping nucleotides on clay and seeing if they stuck there hopefully to link up).

Origin of life: that's what my library work was on. I worked for Keith Kvenvolden; was he still there in your time, or had he already left for the USGS? If, during your lab days, you did any literature research on origin of life in a massive file of photocopies and offprints that the Planetary Biology dept. had, that was mine: I did that.

The principal investigators in my group were Sherwood Chang and JIm Lawless; that doesn't mean that Kvenvolden was gone by then; that overall group was two floors of lab in bldg 239 when I left, and I only really knew one group on a hallway and a half on the third floor.
